Sunday, the message will be centered on Psalm 23 - one of the most recognized chapters in all the Bible.
We will be performing the song "Healer" by Ten Shekel Shirt (that's two Ten Shekel Shirt songs in two weeks for those counting) as our opening song. I've always loved this song and it was the first one that popped into my head when I heard the theme for the week was revolving around the theme of God being our Savior and Healer.
It is a simple, yet powerful song that speaks directly to the heart regarding what we pursue with our lives - a love that is fleeting, or a love that is fulfilling and eternal - healing, saving, and changing us.
Healer, heal me
Savior, save me
Maker, change me
Lover, love me
I'm so tired of living for
The kind of love that only lasts for awhile
The pain, the shame tears me up inside
So I fall on my knees
To get back on my feet again
And I cry out for You
Would You please speak to me
