Well, around Christmas I thought I would take a short break from blogging. Two months later - here I am finally. So much for a "short" break.
At any rate, I wanted to give a shout out for my daughter Emma who was baptized during church last Sunday. Shortly after our last baptism service she stared mentioning that she wanted to be baptized. We made sure she understood what it meant - a public announcement that we are now followers of Christ and a symbol of dying to our sin and being risen to new life in Christ - and then the wait began. She would bring it up every now and then - and then the last week waiting for the big day - she couldn't stop talking about it. I was so proud of her commitment to being obedient to what Jesus has asked us to do.
Then, last Sunday, I told her she was probably going to make me cry and she just looked at me with one of those "Oh dad, whatever!" looks. It was so awesome being in the "bapticuzzi" while John baptized her. I've told my girls for many years to stop growing up, but they don't seem to listen. She was so "grown up" on Sunday and I was so proud of her and grateful for all we've been blessed with.
